Because I have a lot on here and it's about time I sorted it out. XD Um, yes, this post will contain all of the fanfiction I've written so far and posted on LJ, and I'll update it with future fics as well. :)

I can haz fanfikshun?Collapse )

Title: Tumultuous
Word Count: 269
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor + Amy Pond
Summary: So many failed chances to destroy them once and for all, and this is where it had gotten him.
Warnings: DEFINITE POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR SERIES 7. The picture behind the cut showed up on my Tumblr dash and this was the result. While I doubt Moffat would want something this potentially spoilery to be a promo image, I don't actually know if it's fanart or not. There was no source on the image, so you've been warned.
Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC and Steven Moffat.
A/N: Originally written to a prompt on Tumblr for a friend after seeing the image. The picture is behind the cut.

The explosions would probably have been loud...Collapse )

I've been thinking lately, and I figured, I'm still paying like $50 a year for a paid account, I should probably start using this Livejournal a bit more again so I'm not wasting my money. SO HERE I AM, trying to come out of an LJ hibernation.

Not much has changed. In lieu of writing fanfiction, for the past near-on two years I've taken to roleplaying the Doctor on Tumblr an excessive amount (although I want to start writing fanfiction again, too.... especially my bb!Amelia and Eleven ficlets).

I've also successfully graduated from college (as of my birthday of this year, actually, May 19th), which is exciting! I wrote my senior paper on Sherlock Holmes and managed to work my thesis in such a way that I got to talk about Sherlock, and fandom, and somehow I successfully managed to give a 20-minute presentation on it, which is kind of astounding, since I'm a very nervous presenter.

But yeah. It's been an interesting life while I've been absent from here. And it's good to be back!

EDIT: Oh, also, a little over a month ago imagined_leds commented on that one Rory+Doctor fic of mine (here) and asked to make a podfic out of it, which was entirely awesome but I never shared it. So go click that second link, if you want to have a listen. I think she did a wonderful job. :)
Title: Small Victories
Word Count: 892
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor + Howie Spragg
Summary: "Can I tell you a secret, Howie?"
Warnings: Spoilers for "The God Complex". Nothing that will ruin the plot of the whole episode if you haven't seen it, but it certainly would help.
Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC and Steven Moffat. I am just playing around.
A/N: Written for the prompt "hero" at parallelearth for "The Myth Makers" challenge.

He fishes a stray tea leaf out of his cup, one that must have filtered out of a hole in the bag, and he presses it into his finger, sniffing it cautiously. Froot Loops. Definitively Earth-quality Earl Gray.Collapse )

What is your favorite word, and why?

Coming out of my LJ-posting hibernation to answer this!

I have a few favourite words, and they are as follows:

I just think it's a fun way to say "nonsense". I will actively choose to use 'nonsensical' in place of nonsense, and people look at me with funny expressions on their face. The same thing happens when I use 'poetical' in place of 'poetic', too, actually.

This is one of my friend's favourite words, too, and I just like the way it sounds. It means "a specter or phantom".

As if any other single word could adequately capture the overall feel of being 'carelessly lazy'.

For those who don’t know what a Land community is, it’s basically a community where you are put on a team and you complete creative fandom challenges; this can include graphics and writing challenges, little games like crosswords or jigsaw puzzles, team activities, mini-Big Bangs, and more. It’s definitely a lot of fun, and it gets you integrated with more people in the fandom!

I definitely recommend giving it a shot. :)

I mean it's one thing if you get to be too busy or something comes up that makes you unable to maintain a comm, but after over a month of no word and then randomly DELETING it, without asking anybody else if they'd, I dunno, like to take over while you get back on your feet or whatever it is you need, I just, UGH. I was hoping it'd come back eventually but I GUESS NOT NOW.
Title: Flight And Fancy Free
Word Count: 700
Characters/Pairings: Eleven and 7-year-old Amelia
Summary: It doesn't look at all like a camel.
Warnings: Nada.
Disclaimer: Doctor Who belongs to the BBC and Steven Moffat. I am just playing around.
A/N: SOOOO sorry it's been so long! This has been sitting in my notepad for about a month, unfinished. I just got caught up in school and work and then I was at the beach and agh! I'm back now, and hopefully more regularly!

Also, I really really really have to recommend this wonderful short comic strip, because it's related quite a lot to this little series but it's ARTFUL and MAGNIFICENT and I want more.

Even Amelia has the dignity to blush as she lowers her gaze to the ground, kicking her foot through the fine purple blades of grass.Collapse )

THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. I pasted six short stories and got him four times (and Douglas Adams another time).

It’s even better because I’ve never actually read his books (not yet, anyway, but I have recently bought two in order to read them in the immediate future), so it’s not like I’ve gotten my style from him directly. I haven't even seen the films based on his books, except for half of Coraline!

I probably shouldn't be so excited to have a "similar" style to a writer I haven't really read, but come on, IT'S NEIL FREAKING GAIMAN. Creator of one of the best Doctor Who stories I've seen!

*not-so-silently spazzes*
